The Edmonton Oilers have lodged a formal complaint with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman alleging the Colorado Avalanche utilized non-approved hockey sticks (see image below) during the Western Conference Finals. The complaint alleges this equipment gave the Avalanche an unfair advantage leading to a sweep of the Oilers in the series. It is anticipated that the Nashville Predators will join in the complaint.
